Dr. Benayahu Tvila

Rabbi Dr. Benayahu Tvila is a faculty member of the Mandel Leadership Institute, where he is a lecturer, pedagogical advisor, tutor, and workshop facilitator for the Mandel Program for Leadership Development in the Haredi Community (Men’s Track). Benayahu has held numerous positions in the ultra-Orthodox education system. Most recently, he served as supervisor of secondary schools in the ultra-Orthodox department of the Israeli Ministry of Education. Prior to that, from 2014 through 2018, he was a member of the Ministry’s Education Committee. Benayahu is a graduate of several yeshivot and Kollel programs for training teachers and rabbinical judges. He teaches Torah, literature, and pedagogy in various settings, and is involved in environmental issues, addressing the climate crisis, and the obligation to care for the created world. Benayahu is also a poet and writer. His poems appear regularly in newspapers and journals, and he has written a book on Haredi education that is due to be published by Resling Press. Benayahu holds a master’s degree in philosophy from Tel Aviv University, and a doctorate in educational philosophy from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He is a graduate of Cohort 20 of the Mandel School for Educational Leadership.
