Yiftach Shavit

Graduate Community Facilitator

​Yiftach Shavit is the facilitator of the graduate community of the Mandel Program for Leadership in Jewish Culture and of the graduate communities of a number of past programs of the Mandel Leadership Institute. In this capacity, he works to support graduates’ initiatives, strengthen ties between graduates, and expose graduates to the various services provided by the Mandel Graduate Unit. Prior to joining the Mandel Leadership Institute, Yiftach was the pedagogical director and activities coordinator of Madrasa, a nonprofit organization that promotes the study of spoken Arabic in Israel. Yiftach holds a bachelor’s degree in history and international relations and a master’s degree in history from the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Advanced Studies in the Humanities at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He is currently studying for a teaching diploma at the Kerem Institute for Teacher Training. In his spare time, Yiftach enjoys studying Talmud, and serves as a study group facilitator for “Shtaigen,” an initiative that encourages Talmud study among secular Israelis.
